With the poor economic outlook in South Africa, we realised we needed to offer our clients a legal alternative business model where we could offer a reduction to the ever-increasing costs of labour services as prescribed by various legislation (Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and so on).
We realise that the cost labour legislation, ease of litigation and cost of doing business as it relates to labour often leads to employers adopting a cautious approach to employing staff.
After thorough research we have identified a business model that complies with all legislation and permits us to offer labour services, maintain our service levels, at a reduced fee.
Within our organisational structure we have a registered co-operative entity that specialises in the provision of labour to all industries.
That entity is in good standing with The Department of Labour (Workman’s Compensation) and various sector specific regulators.
The co-operative business model is structured where each person is a member of the entity and not an employee, this results in the member being exempt from the Labour Relations Act and other employee related legislation. Statutory benefits can be reduced, and the savings can be passed onto the client.
Our company is still responsible for the delivery of the service to the site and maintaining the high service levels that we adhere to.
Ver is therefore very different to the average labour broker in that we have our own Worker’s Co-Operative that is the vehicle in which we supply labour to the market.
Our staff are never employees but members of the Co-operative.
We are truly a team and operate within the spirit of UBUNTU.
What this means for our clients is that we can offer labour specifically aligned to the means of our clients.
We can easily ‘crew up’ and ‘crew down’ with the labour supplied to our clients based on the client’s operational needs with a no work, no pay, policy.
We pride ourselves in offering quality staff and all our staff that are deployed to our client’s premises go through a stringent interview process and, dependant on the client’s requirements, may be subjected to an in-house, pre-employment polygraph test.
Our members receive dividends annually as required by the Co-Operative Act.
Our staff are never be deemed to be ‘employees’ of the client.
The members in the co-operative are not employees therefore have no right to join a Union nor have automatic rights to the CCMA.
Our value lies in the fact that we can truly tailor make a cost effective and efficient labour solution for our clients.
